OVAC Cheerleading Competition Saturday

The 2015 OVAC Cheerleading Competition will take place Feb. 7 at WesBanco Arena, with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. and competition to begin at 9:30 a.m..

The Paden City Cheerleading squad will compete in Class-A, while the River Pilots and the Magnolia Blue Eagles will each compete in the Class-AAA. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students.

Performing first on the day is Class-AA, then AAA and then A to follow. Teams will perform in the following order: Class-AAA, Monroe Central, Barnesville, Tyler Consolidated, Magnolia, River, Linsly and Bellaire; Class-A, Paden City, Beallsville, Bishop Donahue, Madonna and St. John. Hundred and Valley high schools will not be competing this year.

Immediately following the Class-A performances, awards will be presented in the non-tumbling and classes A, AA and AAA. The Class-5A and Class-4A competitions will be held after the morning awards program.

The competition will consist of each squad incorporating cheers, dances and sideline cheers within a three-minute span in front of five judges and two safety judges.
