New Martinsville Rotary Basketball Starts Saturday
The annual New Martinsville Rotary Basketball Challenge will hit the MHS hardwoods Jan. 24 starting with a pair of girls’ games.
The doors will open at 10:30 a.m. with an all-day gate fee of $6 for adults and $4 for students. The first game will tip-off at 11:30 a.m., as the Hundred Lady Hornets will take on county rival Paden City. The Lady Blue Eagles will host Bishop Donahue at 1:15 p.m.
The state #4-ranked Bishop Donahue boys will take on #10th Williamstown Yellowjackets at 3 p.m. and the Silver Knights of Tyler Consolidated will clash with Weirton Madonna at 4:45 p.m.
The night will start to heat up as Ohio boys’ basketball power and the third ranked OVAC Class-AAA Monroe Central will take on the talented OVAC Class-A fifth ranked Paden City Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. The Rotary Challenge will pit the two top Class-A boys teams in the state – Wheeling Central and the Magnolia Blue Eagles – 20 minutes after the Monroe Central and Paden City game.
Those who come only for the final game of the night will pay regular admission prices, $5 adults and $3 students.
