Lady ‘Cats Win, Lose Basketball Games

Paden City 41,

Beallsville 37

Kayla Hizer scored 13 points to lead the Paden City Lady Wildcats to a 41-37 victory over the Beallsville Blue Devils Jan. 8 inside Bob Burton Gymnasium.

Cydney Blatt, who returned to the line-up after a bout with a knee injury, scored nine points, while Hannah Stanley and Audrey Neff each recorded seven markers,Talitha Bedford paced the Blue Devils with a game-high 24 points

. Donahue 85, PCHS 37

Hannah Stanley scored 21 points, including one from beyond the arc, but it wasn’t quite enough to get past Bishop Donahue, who won handily 85-37 in girls basketball action Jan. 5 inside Bob Burton Gymnasium.

Aubrey Neff added nine points, while Kayla Hizer netted four and Darien Ritchie put up three points.

St John 71,

Paden City 31

Darien Ritchie paced the Lady Wildcats with eight markers, but it wasn’t quite enough to get past Bellaire St. John, 73-31 Jan. 12 in Bellaire.

Hannah Stanley, Cydney Blatt, and Malayna Price each tacked on five points, while Kayla Hizer and Chelsea Baker each swished a deuce.

The Lady Wildcats will look to turn things around Jan. 15 when they host Wood County Christian at 7 p.m. inside Bob Burton Gymnasium.
