‘Dogs Run Over ‘Jacks

The Doddridge Bulldogs spoiled the Valley Lumberjack Homecoming with a 27-7 victory Oct. 24 at Tom West Field.

The Bulldogs ran for 275 yards and four touchdowns on 54 carries, while holding the Lumberjacks to 97 yards rushing on 33 totes. Doddridge also intercepted the ‘Jacks thrice and held Valley to 57 yards passing on 3-17 attempts.

Peyton Palmer paced the Lumberjack offense with a PAT and 58 yards rushing, while Liam Midcap added 21 yards and Trey Streets tacked on 18 yards.

Through the air, Streets hooked up with Tucker Cain on a 40-yard touchdown reception, while connecting with Taylor Bates on a 17-yard strike.

The ‘Jacks moved the chains nine times to 17 times for Doddridge. However, the Bulldogs were guilty of eight penalties for 75 lost yards, while Valley lost 40 yards on five infractions.

The Lumberjacks will travel to Tyler Consolidated on Halloween, Oct. 31, to take on the Silver Knights at 7 p.m.
