Photo Correction Made

The photo of the Hundred Lady Hornets on the front page of last week’s sports section erroneously identified a student as Josie Phillips. It was, in fact, Emily Rine. The sports department apologizes for the error.

Chili Fest 5K

The Wetzel County Kiwanis Club will be organizing a 5K race for the Chili Fest on Oct. 25. Registration will be at 8 a.m.; registration forms will be available online soon at www.wetzelcountychamber.com and at the Chamber Office. The race will begin at 9 a.m. on Main Street, New Martinsville, in front of Quinet’s Court Restaurant. For more information contact Jamison Talkington at jamisontalkington@bayerhfcu.com.

OVAC Seeking

Information

The OVAC is seeking information on Larry Datkuliak, Michael Stora and Joanne Susac from Powhatan; and Noel Lasure from Magnolia, who participated in the 1965 OVAC All Star game. The conference needs to notify them of the 50-year reunion next year. If anyone knows correct mailing addresses and/or phone numbers for these persons, please e-mail to tom@ovac.org.

Lowman Baptist Church Holding Sportsman

Banquet

Lowman Baptist Church, located at North Fork Road in Pine Grove, will be having a Sportsman’s Banquet Oct. 17, 6:30 p.m.

This event will feature local game, fowl, and fish. Pre-registration will be required for this event, which will offer a free meal for all who love hunting, fishing, and other sportsman activities. The event is open to all men, women, and children seven years of age and older. Nursery and child-sitting services will be available. Special guest will be Sportsman Mike Tallman.
