Paden City put 22 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter and 19 in the second on their way to a 47-14 rout of the Conotton Valley Rockets.

In a wet, cold, high-scoring affair, the win put the ‘Cats season record at 3-3 on the year thus far.

Paden City lit up the scoreboard early in the first period as Brandon Cross scored a TD on a three-yard run. Senior Zach Heasley then passed to Luke Cooper for the two after.

Still in the first, Heasley scored on a short run, followed up with two more points on another pass to Cooper. Before the first period could end, Heasley connected with Deven Price on 26-yard pass for six more points for Paden City.

On the kickoff, the Rockets managed to get on the board as they returned the football for six. The ‘Cats took control of the ball again in the second quarter, adding 19 points to their score as Heasley connected with Price three times for three touchdowns: a 26 yarder, 30 yards and a 24-yard pass, and one good extra point kick by Cooper, giving the Wildcats the 41-6 lead at the half.

About half way through the third period, it was the ‘Cats Brandon Cross making good on a six-yard run to tack six more points onto the home team score.

Conotton Valley would add six points in the last quarter, followed by the two point conversion. But it was too little, too late, as Paden City soared to their third win of the season, 47-14.

Heasley completed 13 of 16 passes for 185 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Deven Price brought down all four touchdown passes, catching four for 100 yards even. Cooper had four catches for 38 yards; Hayden Hizer caught three passes for 20 yards; and Cross was the receiver twice for 27 yards.
