Road Race Detailed
The fifth annual Jim Quinet 5K Memorial Run/Walk will be held at 8 30 a. m., Saturday, July 27, beginning and ending in front of Quinet’s Court Restaurant, Main Street in New Martinsville, across from the Wetzel County Courthouse.
The early entry fee of $12 includes a t-shirt. Entry fee on race day is $15, with T-shirts available while supplies last. Registration on race will be from 7-8 a.m. with the race to follow at 8:30 a.m. Water will be made available midway in the race. At the finish line, there will be water, sport drinks and snacks.
Awards will be given to the first overall male and female runners; the top three in 14 and under, as well as in age groups 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69; and 70 and up. There will be no duplication of awards.
The race and all proceeds from it will support a scholarship fund in memory of the late Jim Quinet, owner of Quinet’s Court Restaurant, who was a standout Christian athlete and always carried a smile with him.

OVAC?Seeking Volleyball Officials
The Ohio Valley Volleyball Board is offering an officiating training class May 22-July 24. Classes will be held on Thursdays at Sistersville Elementary School from 6-9 pm. Trainees are required to complete 30 hours of course work (20 hours of class time and 10 hours of court time), pass a medical physical and must pass a written exam.

Volleyball Camp Offered
Pleasants County Area Volleyball will be hosting a volleyball camp for girls entering grades 5-12 June 25-27 at the Pleasants County Middle School in Belmont.
The camp will be conducted by Mitch Jacobs, Marshall University’s head coach and Assistant Coach Matt Jackson, with assistance from the Marshall University women’s volleyball team.
