Paden City 13, Hundred 0

Paden City’s Amber Neff followed her teammate Taylor Cosper’s no-hitter with one of her own against the Hundred Hornets April 7 in Hundred in a 13-0 shutout.

Abbey Still smacked a two-run home run for the Wildcats, while Madi Cox and Kayla Hizer each plated two runs with a pair of singles. Cosper, Hannah Stanley and Tori Anderson each had RBI singles, while Graeson Baker singled twice.

Neff struck out six and walked one to take the win from the mound, while Paige Shriver took the loss for Hundred with a strikeout and six walks.

The Lady Hornets will host Cameron tonight, while Paden City travels to Sardis to take on the Lady Pilots, with both games getting underway at 5 p.m.

Taylor Cosper

Cameron 9, Paden City1

With the Paden Wildcats clinging to a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth, Cameron touched home six times and three more times in the fifth to win a 9-1 mercy-rule shortened game March 27 in Dragon territory.

Cameron hurler Linda Hall scattered three hits, while striking out nine, picked up the win from the circle. Meanwhile the ‘Cats’ hurler, Amber Neff, struck out four took the loss.

Paden City 10, Tyler 0

The ‘Cats’ Taylor Cosper twirled her first career no-hitter to help Paden City earn a 10-0 victory over rival Tyler Consolidated April 5 in a mercy-rule shortened game.

Katie Shreves doubled in two runs, while Amber Neff and Madi Cox each added RBIs with a pair of singles.

Wheeling Central 12, Paden City 2

The Wildcats scored two runs in the top of the first against Wheeling Central on April 2, but Central fought back to gain a 12-2 mercy-rule shortened game at Wheeling’s I-470 Complex.

Cosper doubled, while Cox, Tori Anderson, Graeson Baker and Hannah Stanley each had RBI singles for the Wildcats.

Paden City 11, Clay-Battelle 5

The Lady Wildcats scored eight runs in the last two innings to get past Clay-Battelle in girls’ softball action Monday, March 31 at Paden City Park.

Paden City gave up two runs in the top of the first, but quickly took the lead in the home half, scoring three runs. However, the Lady Cee-Bees stung early in the top of the second, taking advantage of Paden City miscues to regain the at 5-3. The Cee-Bees would keep the ‘Cats in check until the Lady ‘Cat bats started to heat up in the fifth.

Amber Neff started in the circle, striking out two and walking five, while Taylor Cosper worked in relief to sit down 12 and walk six in her 5.1 innings of work to gain the win.

At the plate, Cosper and Hannah Stanley each drilled four singles and belted an RBI double, while Madison Cox spread out three singles and brought home two teammates.

In addition, Graeson Baker singled, doubled and knocked in a pair of runs, while Katie Shreves plated three teammates on a pair of singles. Neff brought home a run on two base hits, while Kayla Hizer and Tori Anderson each belted two singles. Nikki Little came in off the bench and drove home a run on a solid single up the gut.

“We started out sloppy, but when it counted, the girls bats came alive when we needed it the most,” said Assistant Coach Chris Neff. “What can I say about Taylor Cosper? She came in and gave us a lift from the mound. She continues to keep hitting the ball hard and putting the ball into play, while finding holes in the defense.”
