Hornets Looking For Wins

Hundred’s Danny Stewart and Holden Moore combined to score 30 points, but it wasn’t enough to get past Beallsville, 77-48, in Beallsville, Feb. 1.

Hunter Goddard followed with nine points, while Andrew King netted seven markers and Joe Mars netted a deuce.

For the visitors, Clyde Mercer led all scorers with 19 markers, while Dalton Secrest tacked on 18 points. Triston Palmer added 14 points, while Chad Louden contributed 11points and Logan Nippert swished five baskets.

In the junior varsity tilt, Beallsville raced out to a 16-3 lead and never looked back in handing Hundred a 41-21 defeat.

The Hornets’ Brandon White tallied six markers to pace Hundred, while Greg Jones tallied five points. Logan Moore and Danny Kolat each netted a pair of baskets, while Derek Crihfield claimed two points and pulled down nine rebounds.

The Cameron Dragons held the Hundred Lady Hornets to single digits in every quarter, while knocking in 53 markers of their own to win going away, 53-22 in girls’ high school basketball action Jan. 30 in Cameron.

Paige Shriver paced the Lady Wildcats with seven markers, while Valerie Soles chipped in with six points and a half dozen rebounds. Josie Phillips and Meliah Umstead each tacked on three points, Ashley Miller a deuce, and Elaine Topp a free throw.
