Youth Basketball

Tournament To Be Held At Sherrard & Moundsville

Applications are now available for the Hilltop Grade School Girls’ Basketball Tournament to be held at Sherrard and Moundsville Middle Schools beginning Friday, Feb. 21. The tournament is open to all types of girls teams and there will be separate tournaments for 4th, 5th, & 6th grade girls. Each team will be guaranteed at least three games. The entry fee for all teams will be $85. Awards will be given for the first and second place team in each division .

All games will be played under middle school rules and all games will be officiated by certified officials. For further information and an application please contact David Gaudino at dgaudino@stratuswave.net or 304-904-5966.

MHS Towels On Sale

Magnolia High School “rally towels” are being sold for $5 each. To purchase one, call Brandi Murray at the Wetzel County Center for Children and Families, 304-455-2468. All proceeds will benefit Drug Free Clubs of America, Magnolia chapter.

MHS?Boys’ Basketball Spaghetti Dinner

Magnolia High School boys basketball is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner on Jan. 20, 5-7 p.m., at Quinet’s Court Restaurant. Tickets can be purchased from any ball player or by contacting Jennifer Miller, 304-771-3007, or Becky Winters, 304-771-4331. Tickets are $10 each. Dinner includes spaghetti, cole slaw, roll, cake, and drink. Please come out and support the Blue Eagles.

Paden City Grasshopper

Host Tournaments

The Paden City Grasshopper Basketball League will be hosting the Hannah Croasmun Tournament Jan. 27- Feb. 2 for the girls, and Feb. 3-9 for boys. The event is open to all teams in grades 4-6. Third-grade teams are welcome to play up. Each team will play at least two games. Entry Fee is $65 per team. Contact Josh Fulks at 304-337-4058 for any questions or to enter. Deadline to enter for the girls will be Jan. 22 and the deadline for the boys will be Jan. 31.
