Josh Stottlemire, Hundred High School class of 1999, lifted more than 700 pounds with his 218 pounds of body weight Oct. 19 in Ithaca, N.Y., at a powerlifting meet. With the lift, he is the lightest man in state history to bench press over 700 pounds in competition. Stottlemire lifts professionally in the International Powerlifting Association and is ranked eighth nationally. He lifts for The Metal Militia Mason Dixon Chapter powerlifting team, and holds several state, American, and world records in powerlifting.
