Area Runners End Season At Mineral Wells

The 2013 WVSSAC Region I Class-A-AA Cross Country season ended for Magnolia and Paden City in Mineral Wells Oct. 24.

Fairmont Senior won the boys title, while Paden City came in 11th. Magnolia didn’t have enough players to make a team.

Johnny Hogue of Ritchie County finished first with a time of 16:18.7, while Jacob Pancake crossed the finish line in 42nd place with a time of 19:09.5 for Magnolia.

David McIlvain finished one spot behind Pancake. Dean Frye had the best time of the six Paden City boys that competed, with a 19:18.3 time for 44th slot. In addition, Cade Crislip, Jacob Pierce, Travis Leonard, Tyler Kiger, and Aaron Heasley each finished the course with respectable times.

For the girls, Williamstown took top honors, while the Magnolia and Paden City teams finished 11th and 13th respectively.

Kelsey Chambers of Oak Glen had the winning time of 19:13.8, while Kayla Hizer of Paden City had a nice time of 23:11.4 for 32nd place. Ariel Hostuttler and Sofia Herrick was 46 and 47th, respectively for the Blue Eagles top runners. In addition, Mallory Estel, Shelby Gatian, Chelsea Dennis, Morgan Goddard and Miranda Reynolds each had good times for Paden City, while Rachel Arbogast, Shelby Sands, Katie Ensinger and Evan Dawson each finished with respectable times for the Lady Eagles.
