Hawks Rally To Defeat Eagles
The Eagles’ Jordan Delaney booted two goals and teammate Amy Baker added one more, but it wasn’t enough to get by the South Harrison Lady Hawks, 4-3, on the Eagles senior night Oct. 15 at Hydro Field.
Delaney bounced an early goal over the outstretched hands of the Lady Hawk goal keeper for the game’s first goal. Baker followed with another goal midway through the first half when the Hawk keeper roamed to far away from the net and Baker booted one to the back of the net for a 2-0 Magnolia advantage.
Delaney gave the Blue Eagles a 3-0 lead late in the opening half with a nifty side kick winner that got the Magnolia faithful on their feet with appreciation.
Right before intermission, the Lady Hawks scored a goal to close the gap to 3-1. South Harrison would score three more goals in the second half to gain the nod.
Krysta Henderson, Sedar Sands, and Stephanie Mullett played an outstanding match defensively throughout, while Brianna Young was stellar in between the nets, making several saves in the first half.
