Paden City Wildcats Roll, 27-0

Paden City earned their second shut-out of the season on Saturday night after defeating the Conotton Valley Rockets, 27-0 at Conotton Valley.

“Our kids played a good game,” said Wildcat Head Coach Brent Croasmun. “They played hard and earned the win.”

Wildcat quarterback Zach Heasley worked throughout the game on both offense and defense, completing 19 of 29 passes to collect 293 yards in the air. He passed for three touchdowns, ran one in, and was credited with seven tackles defensively and a sack of the Rocket quarterback.

Pyles carried the ball eight times in the game for the Wildcats to collect 110 yards on the ground.

Brandon Cross had 10 carries for 19 yards.

Heasley’s main target on the evening was Cross, who caught six passes to add up to 101 yards. Deven Price had four catches for 72 yards, including two touchdowns; Craig Allen had two catches for 44 yards; and Luke Cooper caught five passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, junior Spencer Billings was credited with 10 tackles, one for a loss and had two quarterback sacks; Isaac Hall had nine tackles; Heasley, seven tackles, one quarterback sack; Cooper, seven tackles, two for a loss, a fumble cause, and batted down a pass; Pyles, five tackles; Hayden Hizer, five tackles, one interception, and caused a fumble; Cross and Allen had four tackles each.

Next up on the schedule for Paden City will be Bishop Donahue. The ‘Cats will travel to John Marshall’s stadium for the 7:30 p.m. kick off with the Bishops.
