Hundred Scores On Two Long Touchdown Drives

By Staff | Oct 16, 2013

Hundred Hornet Andrew King rushed for 105 yards on 15 carries and completed 5-6 passes for 20 yards, but it wasn’t quite enough to get by the Cameron Dragons on the Hornets’ Homecoming Oct. 11.

The Dragons raced out to a 39-0 lead after one period, but the hard-working Hornets went on a 12-play 65 yard drive with the combination of King, Davin Copeland, and Logan Kuhn in the second period to bring life to their homecoming faithful, capped off by a Davin Copeland two-yard TD scamper. King sneaked in for the two-point conversion.

However, the Dragons would tally two more scores by the half to go into the locker room up 51-8.

Neither team scored in the third, but Hundred would turn an 80-yard, 16-play drive that was capped off by a King to Isaiah Jobes 12-yard touchdown strike. Copeland caught the two-point pass from King to complete the drive.

Cameron scored a late touchdown to end all the scoring in the game.

Copeland followed King with 58 yards rushing, while Kuhn tacked on 25 yards and Steve Morris picked up five yards for all the positive rushing. King converted 5-6 passes for 20 yards, with Jobes hauling in one and Copeland and Kuhn each snatching two passes.

Copeland led the Hornets with five solo tackles, while Hunter Goff made a quarterback hurry.

Hundred is on the road to Hancock, Md., on Oct. 18 before hosting Toronto and Tygarts Valley the two following Friday nights. Each game gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
