New Martinsville Mini Golf Begins Renovation August 1

By Staff | Jul 31, 2013

The New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Department will be closing the mini golf facility at Bruce Park on Aug. 1 for renovations.

After many long months and hard work to get the course’s design and information approved, the long-awaited restoration has finally become a reality.

Park’s Director Beverly Gibb has been working on the renovation for the past year and is excited to see all of the hard work and dedication to the future of mini-golf finally begin

“We are so excited to have this mini-golf course redone,” said Gibb. “The course is 25 years old and is long overdue for some updates.

In addition to updating the look and overall appeal of the mini-golf course, the back nine holes will be completely ripped out and replaced to bring the course up to new ADA standard codes.

In addition, the first nine holes are going to be restored and freshened up. “This is just the beginning of our park renovations,” said Gibb.

“We want to make the parks in New Martinsville more assessable to all individuals, along with making them nicer and more accommodating to all families.”

The newly renovated mini-golf course will be open for business by the May 2014 summer season. In celebration of the renovation, the Parks Department will be offering free mini-golf all day on July 31.
