The John Marshall Volleyball Team will host the third annual youth clinic June 17-19 at the JM gym, from 10 a.m.-noon each day. This year, a grant from Consol Energy and Noble Energy will go toward the purchase of equipment used in the camp.
The camp will be coached by the 2011 Two Rivers Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, Stacy McNally and the coaching staff of John Marshall High School. John Marshall’s high school players will be assisting in the camp as well.
Girls entering grades 4-8 at any school are welcome to attend. The cost is $40 per athlete that includes a camp T-shirt and awards ceremony at noon on the final day. The camp will focus on overhand serving, forearm passing, overhand passing, hitting, and blocking. The camp will cover defensive systems and offensive strategy for upper grade level players and fundamentals for young players.
Last year the camp had almost 60 participants and there only 75 spots available total. For more information, call JM High school or visit the school’s Edline page for a registration form. Registration closes May 27. Late registration will be accepted, but athletes may not get a t-shirt until the end of the week.
