Lady Pilots Ground ‘Cats

The Lady Wildcats fell to the River Pilots April 10 at Paden City. River scored seven runs in the sixth inning to take the 9-2 win over the Green and White.
Senior Kelsey Loy pitched five innings, striking out 12 batters and walking seven. Taylor Cosper took over in the sixth, striking out three and walking one. Nikki Little collected an RBI for Paden City.
On Monday, the Lady ‘Cats traveled to Valley to take on the Lumberjills and brought home an 11-1 win. The Ladies in Green put eight runs on the scoreboard in the fourth inning to get the win.
Loy pitched a good game, striking out six and walking one. Offensively, Taylor Cosper hit two singles and collected an RBI; Megan Pierce had two singles and an RBI; Hannah Stanley singled and had one RBI; Tori Anderson hit two singles a double and had two RBI’s; and Graeson Baker singled twice and plated one.
The ‘Jills’ Jessica Ashcraft broke up the Loy no-hit bid with a single, while teammate Bre Harris took the loss from the mound with five strike outs.

Mackenzie Marshall had the big bat for the Lady Pilots with a pair of RBI doubles, while Madison Taylor belted a single and an RBI double. In addition, Rachael Hutchison tripled and Haylee Bowers doubled while Rosie Romick and Mikayla Cieszeski each drilled singles. Nikki Little had an RBI for the Lady Wildcats.
Kelsey Loy took the loss with three Ks and a walk. Gabby Goudy and Monica Curtis combined for 10 strike outs and no walks, with Curtis getting the win from the rubber.
The Lady ‘Cats are scheduled to play a double header at Tyler Consolidated on Wednesday and will head to Parkersburg Catholic on April 22.
