Lady Hornets Win First

The Lady Hornets’ Paige Shriver hit a grand-slam and Emily Ebert tossed a two-hitter, as Hundred beat Notre Dame 32-3 in Clarksburg April 2 for Hornet Head Coach Jeff Shriver’s first win.

Paige Shriver added a single to go with her homer, while stealing six bases and touching home five times. Ebert struck out six and walked three from the hill, while adding a single.

In addition, Andrea Nagy went 3-3 with three RBIs and seven stolen bases, while teammate Taylor Ashcraft brought home two runs on a pair of singles.

The Hornets’ Paige Shriver had two RBI singles, scored three times, and stole six bases, while Emily Ebert picked up the win from the hill en route to a 11-10 victory over Clay-Battelle in Blacksville April 8.

Andrea Nagy and Tameka Kernen each recorded multiple hits, while Shelley Cork and Allie Hayes each had singles in the seventh.

The Lady Hornets picked up its second win of the season, beating Morgantown Trinity 12-2 in the opener of a twin-bill in Morgantown April 4. Shelley Cork paced the Hornets with a pair of singles, while Andrea Nagy singled in two runs. Taylor Ashcraft and Tameka Kernen each recorded singles, while Paige Shriver, Shelly Cork, and Allie Hayes each scored three runs apiece.

Emily Ebert got the win from the rubber.

Hundred lost the second game 24-9, paced by the bat of Ebert, who singled and tripled, while Cork added a three bagger.

In addition, Nagy, Ashcraft, Erika Hunter, Leah Tennant, and Nikki Cunningham each contributed a single.

The Hornets also lost 20-3 to West Greene on April 3, and 13-0 to the Beallsville Blue Devils on April 5.
