Eagles Win One Of Three
Magnolia’s Mallory Chapman belted a two-run triple and Audrey Gibb drilled an RBI triple to power Magnolia to a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Brooke Bruins March 29 at the Wheeling’s I-470 J.B. Chambers Sports Complex.
Chapman also picked up the win from the rubber. She struck out three and didn’t walk a batter.

The Lady Eagles saw nothing but Ks in a loss to the two-time Class-A WVSSAC State Champions Buffalo. The Bison flame-thrower, Ali Burdette, recorded 14 strike outs and issued one free pass to earn the win. Chapman was the hard-luck losing pitcher. She struck out six, walked five, and scattered five hits.
Magnolia’s two hits both came from Chapman – a single and a double.

Steubenville Catholic ripped a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to dispose of the Magnolia Lady Blue Eagles 4-3 April 1 to open Catholic 2013 season on Steve Zamana Field in Steubenville.
Magnolia’s Abby During brought home all three of her teammates with a single and a double. Meanwhile, Mallory Chapman was the hard-luck losing pitcher with six strike outs and two bases on balls.
Magnolia will have home games with Wheeling Central and Shadyside April 4 and April 5, respectively, at 5 p.m.
