River High School takes pride in announcing that Nick Asturi has accepted to further his academic and athletic career at West Virginia Wesleyan University.

Asturi, a stellar football athlete at River, rushed for 1,065 yards this past season on only 159 carries. He scored 20 touchdowns and caught 17 passes for 248 yards.

On defense he made 78 tackles and made two interceptions. On returning kicks, Asturi accumulated 302 yards on 14 returns. During his senior season he has earned Small School First Team OVAC; First Team All District; Times Leader; PVC; and third team All State.

His academic major is undecided.
