Eagles Fly Over Cee-Bees

By Staff | Feb 20, 2013

The Magnolia Blue Eagles avenged an earlier defeat, beating the Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees 81-71 Feb. 18 inside the Eagles HammerDome at MHS.

The Eagles’ Mark Winters tallied the Eagles’ first nine points of the game, while adding the game’s first two buckets to open the second half to give Magnolia a 20-point lead.

However, the long range shooting of the Cee-Bees pulled them back to within seven markers with 1:28 left in regulation, but the Eagles cashed in late with a bucket and a rare trip to the free throw line to gain the 10 point victory.

Clay-Battelle shot the lights out in the second half, scoring 12 baskets from well beyond the arc, with Tristan Haught the recipient of eight of them and Zach Chisler a pair, combining for over half of the Cee-Bee points with 49 markers.

For the Blue Eagles, Winters tallied a game-high 30 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Stephen Rogalski netted 21 points, including four triples. He also added six boards, five assists, and made a steal. Zach Wilhoite tallied a quiet 18 points, and hauled in seven rebounds, and swatted away six Cee-Bee shots, while Preston Boswell netted eight points, including two from downtown, and Kyle Elliott added two baskets.
