MHS?Freshmen Finish 15-1

The Magnolia Blue Eagle Boys’ Freshman Team finished its season with a 15-1 record after winning its final three games against Linsly, Monroe Central, and Bellaire Big Red.

Chase Miller and Derrick Blain teamed for 28 points to lead Magnolia to a 47-32 victory over Linsly Jan. 28 in Wheeling.

Jared Kacor followed with seven markers, while Dylan Jackson netted four points. In addition, Todd Lemasters added three points, while Tyler and Alex Anderson each netted a deuce and Patrick Wilson swished a free throw.


The Blue Eagles avenged its only defeat with a 47-39 come-from-behind victory over Monroe Central Jan. 29 inside the MHS HammerDome.

Kacor paced Magnolia with 16 points, while Miller and Blain evenly split 20 markers. Tyler Anderson followed with nine points, while Lemasters ended the Eagle scoring with a deuce.


In the season finale Jan. 31 at New Martinsville, everyone got involved in the scoring column in a 55-39 blow out over Bellaire Big Red.

Blain led all scorers with 18 points, while Miller tacked on 13 markers. Tyler Anderson contributed seven tallies, while Jackson netted six points. In addition, Kacor, Lemasters, Wilson, and Alex Anderson each dropped in a deuce, while Michael Dantrassy swished a charity toss.
