Chapman Nets 22 In Loss

The Williamstown Lady Yellowjackets drained 14 baskets from beyond the arc en route to a 91-72 victory over the Magnolia Lady Eagles last week in Williamstown.

After falling behind 21-18, the Yellowjackets came alive with the help of the threeball to take a 50-38 advantage at the break. They continued their torrid shooting in the second half, despite a stellar performance by the Lady Eagles.

Mallory Chapman led Magnolia with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Kiera Standiford and Grace Berisford evenly divided 30 markers. Audrey Gibb continued to shine in the second half of the season, scoring 12 points, while Katie Blatt and Abby During finished with six and two points, respectively.

Blatt added eight rebounds and dished out a game-high 10 assists, while making four of the team’s 14 steals. Standiford also added four steals, while Berisford stole three balls and dished off six assists. Magnolia also swatted away nine ‘Jacket shots, with Gibb and Chapman leading the way with three apiece.
