Lumberjills Win First

The Lady Dragons used an 18-6 run in the fourth period to conquer Valley 53-40 Dec. 6 in Pine Grove. Cameron also withstood Megan Bucher’s 19 points that included three bombs.

The visitors took an 18-12 lead in the opening period and held a 27-21 advantage at the break. Valley went on a 14-8 burst in the third period before the Lady Dragons put the game away in the fourth period.

Karissa Headley added nine markers for the Lady ‘Jills, while Brittany Sivert chipped in eight tallies. Samantha Thomas and Sarah Bassett each tacked on a deuce for all the Lumberjill scoring.


The Valley ‘Jills beat East Richland Dec. 8 at the Lumberjack gymnasium for their first win of the season. There were no other stats available.

The Lumberjills’ next game is Dec. 13 when they take on the Clay-Battelle Lady Cee-Bees at 7:30 p.m. at home.

In the 6 p.m. preliminary game, the Valley JV team will take on the Paden City Lady Wildcat junior varsity team.
