Hornets Churning Out Wins

Lady Hornet Katie Tennant garnered a double-double, 14 points and rebounds, while blocking seven shots to lead Hundred to its second victory of the season over the ice cold Paden City Lady Wildcats, 47-29 last Tuesday at Hundred.
Hundred jumped out to a 11-4 lead after one period of play and went into the locker room up 21-9 before the cold shooting Wildcats tallied double-digit scoring in the third period.
“We shot seven percent from the floor on 7-89 shots, including 7-29 from the charity stripe and you don’t win games shooting like that,” said Paden City Head Coach Kelly Sine. “You have games like that once in awhile, where you can’t hit the side of the barn if you were standing in front of it. But I hate that it happened to us against one of our county teams.”
Lady Hornet Lindsay Jones contributed 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Paige Shriver tallied four markers that included a bonus bomb. She also hauled in seven boards, while Oshana Topp drilled a three-point basket for all the Hundred scoring.
For Paden City, Myah Charkawi once again led the ‘Cats in scoring with a double-double 14 points and 10 off the glass for her third double-double of the season in four games played. Logan Cosper sank two three-point buckets, while Taylor Cosper tallied five markers. Kayla Barker netted a deuce, while making four steals and dishing out three assists. Kayla Hizer and Cydney Blatt each sank a free throw.
After an away game with Cameron Dec. 11, Paden City will travel to East Richland on Dec. 14 with the varsity tip getting underway at 6 p.m.
