Lady Pilots Cruise To Pair Of Wins

The Pilots’ Laken Ramsay and Cassidy McCullough combined to score 23 points to lead River to a 64-53 victory over county rival Monroe Central Nov. 24 in a mutual season opener in Seminole territory.
The Lady Pilots outscored their hosts by three points in the first two periods, before the Lady Seminoles trimmed the score by one in the third period.
The Pilots went on a 21-15 run to end the game for an 11-point victory.
Haylee Bowers followed Laken and Cassidy with nine markers, while Jensen Caretti netted a seven spot. Landyn Ramsay, Emile Weaver, and Leslie Young scored six, five, and four points, respectively.

Four River Pilot players scored in double figures and exploded with a 30-7 first quarter run, and closed out with a 15-2 fourth quarter run to defeat the Lady Redskins 65-32 Monday night in Caldwell.
In softball, Bowers hits for the fences with ease, while in basketball she and Caretti each poured in a game-high 14 markers to lead the Pilots to their second straight victory in as many games.
McCullough poured in a dozen markers, while Laken Ramsay netted 11 points that included a bonus bomb. Landyn Ramsay netted seven yards, while Emile Weaver tacked on three points. Leslie Young and Darci Winkler each tallied a deuce.
The Lady Pilots will host the opener for Buckeye Trail Nov. 29, with the junior varsity tilt at 6 p.m.
