Hornets Fall, 62-22
The Toronto Red Knights scored 49 first-half points and held on for a 62-22 victory over Hundred in the next-to-last game of the season Oct. 19 at a muddy Toronto Field.
Hornet Brandon White scored Hundred’s first touchdown on a 30-yard run, with Chris Varner converting the two-point run. They both switched places on the next Hundred score, when Varner took it 66 yards for a Hundred touchdown and White tacked on the two-point bonus.
Varner took it to the house one more time on a nifty 53-yard run for the rest of the Hornet scoring.
Varner rushed for 191 yards and scored two touchdowns, while White added 90 yards and a score. Tyler Koontz added three yards on his only carry. White caught two passes for two yards.
Defensively, Brandon Armstrong and Isaac Efaw each recorded 15 tackles, with Varner taking care of 11 others.
Hundred will try to get that monkey off their back after 19 straight defeats when they host the 0-9 Tygarts Valley Bulldogs. Kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
