MHS Blue Eagles Fall In Five Sets
Emily Cline tallied 23 points, six aces, seven digs, and three kills, while Mallory Chapman and Lauren Cline evenly split 36 points, but it wasn’t enough to get by St. Marys, who prevailed 9-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-15 and 13-15 in a five-set marathon in Blue Devil territory Oct. 11.
After getting blown out in the first match, the Lady Eagles made a match of it, winning sets two and four to set up the tie-breaker.
Chapman added 15 kills and 15 digs, while Cline made 16 assists and belted eight kills. Hillary Feldmeier contributed 15 points and six digs, while Ashley Moore netted 13 points, three service aces, and eight digs.
In addition, Erinn Clegg scored 10 points, while Katie Blatt bombarded the Devils, with six kills.
There are only two matches left in the regular season, Magnolia faced Brooke at home Tuesday after press time on Blue Eagle Senior Night. They will finish the regular season on the road Oct. 23 at Paden City and Oct. 24 at John Marshall before heading into sectional play.
