Dragons Beat Hornets

The Cameron Dragons scored 20 points in the first period and 26 points in the third period and held on for a 52-14 win to ruin Hundred’s Alumni Weekend game Oct. 5.

Hornet Chris Varner scored twice and rushed for a team-high 104 yards, while converting on four passing attempts for 29 yards and two interceptions.

J.P. Hennen returned to the Hornet lineup after missing a couple weeks because of a shoulder injury. He rushed for 37 yards, while Brandon White netted 42 yards and Isaac Efaw, 10 yards.

White caught two passes for 10 yards, while Efaw and Logan Kuhn each hauled in one pass for a combined 19 yards.

Defensively, Rocky Tennant made eight tackles, while Efaw and Hennen each made seven stops.

The Hornets will try to get their first victory in two seasons Friday night when they host the Hannan Wildcats. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
