Six ‘Cats Make Up Golf Team

By Staff | Sep 5, 2012

Six players will make up Paden City High School’s varsity golf team this season, who will be coached by new head coach, Nathan Tallman.

Tallman, in his first head coaching position, speaks highly of his team and expects good things to happen for them, as long as they keep learning the game.

“It’s a small and young team, but we’re okay with that,” he said. “I just want them to continue to learn the game of golf and put in the work to get better, and it will all pay off in the end.”

“Coaching is new to me and golf is new to some of them, so it’s going to be a learning experience for all of us.”

The team will most likely be led by sophomore Levi Meadows and returning junior Kyle Postlethwait, the number one and two golfers on the team.

Also making the roster for the 2012 season will be junior Jeremy Mercer, sophomore Kayleb Byers, and freshmen, Dezirae Middleton and Travis Leonard.

“They’re good kids and they seem to be learning as we go,” Tallman said. “I want them to have a good time, have some fun, but keep picking up pointers.”

The Wildcat golf team will see action this week tonight at Riverside and at the Sistersville Golf Course on Aug. 29.
