Ebert Wins World Championship
In the photo, New Martinsville resident Gary Ebert is locked in with his bow during the International World Championships Aug. 11 held at Seven Springs Resort in the Open Class. Ebert would out shoot some of the best international bow hunters to win his first World Championship.
In the three-day event, Ebert had to shoot numerous life-size targets of all kinds of game in the field to get the win.
Other local winners include Michael Tenley of Clarington in the Cross-Bow, while New Martinsville resident Darrell Ashenhart placed fifth in the same category. Bringing back to Powhatan a second place finish in the Female Bow Open Class was Melissa Grover.
Ebert will travel to Huntington, W.Va., this weekend to participate in the West Virginia Open Championship.
