Magnolia High School graduate Kayla Brill, class of 2009, is one of two softball players at Division I Morehead State University to be named to the second team, Ohio Valley Conference Preseason All-Conference Team.

Brill played in all 55 of the college’s games in 2011, while starting 52. She posted a .312 batting average, ranking third and punched out 43 hits, including nine homeruns and 39 RBIs for a slugging percentage of .587, ranking second on the team.

She graduated from Magnolia with a .474 batting average that included nine doubles, five triples, 27 RBI, and 21 stolen bases.

Morehead, located in Kentucky, will open its 2012 softball season Feb. 17-19 at the University of Charleston.
