Soccer Referees Needed

By Staff | Feb 8, 2012

There is a great need for high school soccer officials in the OVAC and throughout the tri-state area. To become a high school official, one must take 16 hours of United Soccer Federation referee training and four hours of additional training the WVSSAC high school referee program.

In completing this training, new officials will be able to to register as referees with USSF ($45 registration fee) and gain experience at all levels of youth soccer starting in the spring. The additional four hours of high school specific training would be in late July or early August, resulting in registration for high school soccer, possibly in both West Virginia and Ohio for additional fees.

High school referees must be 18 years or older and out of high school.

Those with serious interest in completing a flexibly-scheduled training program are urged to contact Harry Foose at hefoose@hotmail.com ASAP. This will allow him to establish an email distribution list and determine accommodating dates and times for classroom activities. The first training should be about March 10-25.
