Lady Knights Sink Eagles

By Staff | Feb 8, 2012

Lady Eagle Dallas Mullett scored a career-high 19 points and passed out five assists, but it wasn’t enough to get by Tyler Consolidated, who won 59-48 Jan. 31 at Magnolia High School.

After falling on the short end of the scoreboard in both the first and second quarters, the Lady Eagles used a 13-9 run in the third period to climb back into the game. However, The Lady Knights wouldn’t be denied and put the game away with a solid fourth quarter effort.

Following Mullett in the scoring column for Magnolia, Mallory Chapman and Jasmine Litton each tallied 10 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. In addition, Katie Blatt netted four points and Kiera Standiford contributed a deuce.

For the Lady Knights, it was Sophie Kinnard with 19 points, Allison Wable with 18 points, and Sydney Reed with 11 markers to help pace Consolidated in the double-digit victory.

The Lady Eagles only made one less basket than the Knights, but they made as many free throws (17) as MHS attempted.
