The 21st Annual OVAC Cheerleading Championships will be held Feb. 4 at Wheeling’s WesBanco Arena, with the doors opening at 9 a.m. and cheerleading to begin at 10 a.m. The admission is $4 for students and $6 for adults. Area teams competing in the OVAC Championships are Paden City in Class A, River in Class AA, and Tyler Consolidated and Magnolia in Class AAA.

Each school will perform a three-minute open routine that may include cheer, dance, and tumbling. The morning session will include Class-1A, Class-2A, and Class-3A performances, followed by awards.

The afternoon session of Class-4A and Class-5A will begin at approximately 1:45 p.m. and conclude with awards around 3:30 p.m.

2011 Small Middle School Champions Tyler Consolidated will perform throughout the day, along with Medium Middle School Champions Union Local; Large Middle School Champions Triadelphia Middle School; and Junior Varsity Champions Wheeling Park.
