Lady Eagles Still Searching For First Victory Of The Season

By Staff | Jan 11, 2012

MHS sophomore Mallory Chapman sank 14-15 free throws, pulled down 15 boards, made a steal, and blocked a shot, but it wasn’t enough to get by the home-standing Ritchie County Lady Rebels, who prevailed 58-45 in girls’ basketball action Jan. 5.

The Lady Rebels outscored the Blue Eagles 17-13 in the opening frame and increased their advantage by one, to 26-21, at the break. Magnolia would score 24 points in the second half, but the Lady Rebels would answer with 32 points of their own to get the nod.

Dallas Mullet followed Chapman with seven points and dished off three assists, while Katie Blatt and Jasmine Litton each recorded four points. Alivia Melott tacked on three markers, while Kiera Standiford and Shannon Williams each netted a basket.
