The Valley Lumberjills used a 44-22 run in the two middle periods to claim a 67-40 victory over host Harman Jan. 7.

Dani Hayes led three other double-digit scorers with 14 points. She also made six steals, while Samantha Thomas and Brittany Sivert each recorded a dozen points. Sivert also swiped seven Harman passes. Megan Bucher tallied 10 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for a double-double.

In addition, Karissa Headley tacked on five points, Ali Haught and Alisha Carter each netted four points, and Holli Schell connected from downtown.

“We missed 36 easy shots around the basket, but we played hard and made 22 steals. I’m still waiting for us to put it all together and play four solid quarters of good basketball,” said Valley Head Coach Lance Binegar. “I was a little scared after the first period of play, but the girls put it together and kicked it into high gear.”

The Lumberjills host Cameron tonight before finishing the week at Bishop Donahue and Morgantown Trinity, Jan. 16 and Jan. 21, respectively.
