GOODE TO GO
You all know the song, “All I Want For Christmas,” right? Well, I had my own version of that song going this holiday season.
All I wanted was a trip to Miami, Fla., to watch the West Virginia Mountaineers play the Clemson Tigers in the Orange Bowl (Jan. 4 at 8 p.m.).
On Christmas Eve, I walked into the dinning room of my grandma’s house and saw a big box with my name on it. I could not sleep at all that night, just wondering what was in that box.
At home on Christmas morning, I got some really nice clothes and some other things. When we got to my grandma’s, we discussed who would open presents first. I jumped at the opportunity.
My uncle carried in the big box that I saw on Christmas Eve. With the help of cousins Tyler and Trevor, I began to unwrap the box. My grandma also told me that there were hints in the box of what was at the bottom.
The first clue I came to was three oranges in a little plastic bowl. Then came a musket like the WVU Mountaineer’s. And then – clear down at the bottom of the box – I saw my dream gift in a zip-lock baggy. It was the perfect Christmas gift for me.
My step-dad and I have our flight booked for the game. Now all that’s left is for us to do is have fun in the sun
Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you’ll watch for me on TV, ’cause I can’t watch for you.
