Cline Wins Two In A Row

Cody Cline won for the second week in a row to win this week’s match play over three-time Grand Finale Champion Dud Snider. The victory was worth $85, compliments of weekly sponsor Mason-Dixon Gaming.

Lil Miller was the two-game high qualifier with games of 190, 180 and a 92 handicap for a 462 total. Cline ousted Miller 253-200 in one semifinal, while Miller ousted Snider 217-177 in the other semifinal. Miller Lite and Buddy Light Accounting tournament sponsors guarantee the grand finale top prize of $1,000. The top 24 bowlers on the point list qualify for the 34th annual match play final, with the top eight bowlers each earning a first-round bye.

Lil Miller leads the point list with 255 points, while Chet Richmond is second with 230 points.

Magnolia’s junior varsity bowling team won its opening tournament in Parkersburg at Emerson Lanes. Jamie Mellott led the way with an all-spare 185 game and a 495 series. Jordan Longwell rolled a 159, Kristen O’Neil, 157, and Shawn Windland also pitched in with a 152 for the Blue Eagle squad.

The tournament featured 10 teams from the north division. Jim Longwell serves as the head coach. The next tournament is scheduled for Bruce Lanes on Dec. 11.
