‘Jills Win Two

The Valley Lumberjills finished off their regular season in style beating Cameron and Hundred Oct. 24 in Cameron.

Against Cameron, the Lumberjills would win a close one, 25-22 in the first set and finished the Lady Dragons in style with a 25-12 victory in the second set, to win the match.

Brittany Sivert led all-scorers with 17 points, including five service aces. She also added 13 dinks, two digs and had four kills to pace the Valley Lumberjills. Hannah Loy followed with 12 points, including three aces. She added two digs and had six assists. VHS teammate Jessica Ashcraft had 25 assists, one dig and one service ace to go along with nine points.

In addition, Allison Haught scored seven points, including a pair of aces. She also added eight dinks, three spikes and five assists. Heather Quinn scored six points, including a pair of service aces, while Kaitlyn Midcap tallied three points, one set, one spike, one dig and one dink.

In the match with Hundred, the ‘Jills nipped the Lady Hornets 27-25 in the first set, but the Lady Hornets fought back and claimed a 17-25 victory to send the third and final set.

After a slow start,the ‘Jills would not be denied and won 25-13 to win the match.

High scorers for the ‘Jills was Ashcraft with 18 points, including four service aces. She also led the squad with 50 sets and 16 assists, she tacked on two digs, and five dinks. Sivert scored 14 points, including four service aces, four blocks, five digs and dinks and five spikes.

In addition, Loy and Quinn teamed for 24 points, five aces, 10 dinks and digs, 18 spikes and 12 sets, while the combination of Midcap and Haught teamed for 14 points, 12 digs and dinks, 24 spikes, and 10 sets. Brooke Staley didn’t score, but she added 15 sets and one dig.

For the Lady Hornets, Mercedez Goff and Paige Shriver each recorded 13 points to pace Hundred, while Cheyenne Myers netted a dozen. Haley Hayes scored nine points, while Shayna Tedrow contributed eight markers and Emily Ebert two pints.

There were no other stats available from Hundred.
