Lady Bishops Hold Off ‘Jills

By Staff | Oct 26, 2011

The Valley Lumberjills’ Allison Haught scored 17 points, but it wasn’t enough for the ‘Jills to overcome a disappointing four-set match to Bishop Donahue in McMechen, Oct. 18.

After losing the first set 25-17, the Lumberjills came roaring back to claim a hard-fought 24-26 OT victory in the second set. However, the Lady Bishops turned the score around to take set three by the identical 26-24 tally.

The Lumberjills lost focus and Bishop Donahue jumped all over Valley with an easy 25-11 set victory that gave them the match.

Brittany Sivert and Jessica Ashcraft scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, while Hannah Loy netted nine points, including a pair of service aces.
