River Wins Season Finale

The River Pilot Volleyball Team ended its regular season in style Oct. 13, beating the Valley Lumberjills in three straight sets, 25-10, 25-16, and 25-11 at RL Potts Gymnasium.

Dakota Earley paced the Lady Pilots with 17 points, including an ace, while contributing a pair of digs. Annie Turner followed with 13 points, two aces, five kills, five digs, five kills, and added 19 assists in a well-rounded match.

In addition, Torey Potts tallied nine points, including an ace. She was also tough at the net, smashing eight kills and blocking seven Lumberjill shots. Hannah Jones added a team-high 11 digs, while Leslie Young smashed a game-high nine kills and Brittany Connors, Courtney Prout, Maggie Morrow, Stephanie Murdock, Anna Rufener, and Mackenzie Wade each added digs.

For the Lumberjills, junior Brittany Sivert had a team-high nine points, two kills, and 10 digs to pace the visitors. Hannah Loy tallied eight points, including a pair of service aces, three spikes, and seven digs. VHS senior setter Jessica Ashcraft scored six points, while adding six digs and 49 sets.

Valley

On Oct. 11, the Valley Lumberjills defeated the Notre Dame Lady Irish in three straight sets, 25-15, 25-11, and 25-16.

Leading the way for the ‘Jills was Hannah Loy with 19 points, including three aces and six spikes, while Brittany Sivert contributed 17 points that included four service aces. She also had 10 spikes, five digs, and four kills. Jessica Ashcraft added 18 points, including four aces, 40 sets, and four digs.

In addition, Alison Haught tallied 11 points, six spikes, and blocked four Irish shots, while Heather Quinn netted seven points, seven spikes, and recorded four digs.
