Pictured is Maggie Marody of St. Clairsville, Ohio, who participated in the West Virginia Long Course Swimming Championship in Christiansburg, Va., Aug. 5-7. Marody is a member of the Wheeling’s JB Chambers YMCA Swim Team.

She won the state championship in the 200 meter freestyle, 200 meter individual Medley, 50 meter butterfly, and the 100 meter butterfly. She also won silver in the 100 meter free style and the 50 meter freestyle. She participated at the Eight and Under girls level.

Marody is the daughter of Sandy and Floyd Marody of St. Clairsville and the granddaughter of Mary Ann and Abe Marody of Fort Myers, Fla., and Sybil and the late Bob Gorby of Middlebourne.
