The Paden City High School Football Team was bested 20-0 by the homestanding Conotton Valley Rockets Saturday, Oct. 8.

“This is a game we should have won,” said Paden City Head Coach Brent Croasmun. “We made too many mistakes.”

Paden City rushed for 47 yards and passed for 52 yards. Senior Taylor Still led all Wildcat rushers with 47 yards on 17 carries, while Geoffrey Bidwell had 12 yards on eight carries.

Quarterback Zach Heasley completed four of 22 passes for 52 yards and was intercepted three times in the game. Kennedy Cain had three catches for 45 yards and Peyton Hinkley caught one pass for seven yards.

Defensively for Paden City, Jamie Billiter had 14 tackles. Keith Hardbarger was credited with nine tackles, a quarterback sack, and two tackles for a loss of yardage. Trey Leonard had eight tackles, while Kyle Staton had seven tackles, one for a loss of yardage and one QB sack. Jared Stewart and Peyton took down six ball carriers each, while Hinkley added a sack. Aaron Higgins had one interception and one fumble recovery.

Paden City will have another Saturday afternoon game this week when they travel to Bellaire to take on the Irish of St. John.
