By Staff | Oct 5, 2011

Valley Lumberjack Jon Smallwood garnered a career-high 116 yards rushing and a TD, while teammate Casey Pingley tacked on 91 yards and a touchdown. However, the home-standing Clay-Battelle Cee-Bees scored 22 points in the second period to get by Valley, 42-12, on the Cee-Bees’ homecoming night, Sept. 30.

After a Pingley three-yard TD scamper to open the game, the Cee-Bees tacked on a pair of touchdowns before Smallwood went the distance on a 63-yard touchdown run to close the gap to 13-12 early in the second period.

Clay-Battelle scored four more touchdowns, including a 50-yard fumble return to put the game out of reach for Valley.

Smallwood and Pingley paced the Lumbuerjacks with 116 yards and 91 yards, respectively, while the ‘Jack passing game was 0-5 with three interceptions. Clay-Battelle moved the chains 14 times, whereas Valley did so only 11 times. Each team lost a fumble.

The ‘Jacks’ Clay Ueltschy hauled down 13 Cee-Bees, while Drew Wade tackled nine and picked off a Clay-Battelle pass. The ‘Jacks will look to get back on track when they travel to Bellaire to face the St.John Fighting Irish Oct.8, with the kickoff scheduled for noon.
