Hornets Trounced By Bishops
Bishop Donahue spanked the Hundred Hornets, 63-6 Oct. 1 in Moundsville at Monarch Stadium, wasting little time in scoring 27 points in the first quarter. Donahue held a 47-0 advantage heading into the locker room.
The out-matched Hornets held the powerful Bishops to no points in the third period. But the Bishops tallied 14 more points after the Hornet Chris Varner returned a kickoff 85 yards for the Hornets’ only points of the night.
Mhar Olayan paced Hundred’s ground game with 38 yards rushing, while Varner and Brandon Armstrong teamed for 40 yards.
Hundred moved the chains only four times, while the big-play Bishops recorded 11. Each team lost a fumble and there were 11 penalties in the game, six of them against Hundred.
Hundred is still searching for its first win of the season and will look to get it Friday, Oct. 7 against the Cameron Dragons on homecoming night at Cosgray Field with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
