OVAC?Golf Scores Announced
In OVAC golf championships, Weirton Madonna took top honors in Class-A with 317 points, while Paden City finished sixth with 474 points.
Kyle Postlethwait scored a 91 to lead the young Wildcats, while Levi Meadows shot a 119. Jeremy Mercer shot 131 and Dean Frye finished the team score with 133 points.
In Class-AA, the defending OVAC Champion River Pilots dropped to sixth place with 349 points, while Steubenville Catholic won the Class-AA championship title with 330 points.
The Pilots’ Austin Curtis shot a 75 to earn him a spot in the All-OVAC All-Tournament Team to pace Bob Cain’s River Pilots. Aaron Goddard followed with an 82, while Jason Miller and Ford Cisler each shot a 91.
In the Class-AAA Martins Ferry had 318 points to win the Class-AAA title while Magnolia finished fifth with 373 points and Tyler Consolidated had 376 points – good enough for sixth place in a tough division.
The Eagles’ Tyler Myers shot an 81 to lead the Blue Eagle squad, missing by one stroke to make the All-Tournament Team.
Magnolia’s Brantley Hissom shot a 96, while teammates Alex Pancake and Brandon Fluharty each recorded a 98 for Magnolia.
