Eagles End Season

The Magnolia Boys Freshmen Basketball Team finished their season 8-1, with seven scheduled games not played due to the weather.

On Jan. 19, the Eagles beat John Marshall, 62-28, with John Korns pacing the MHS scoring with 24 points. Corey Moore and Drew Goddard followed with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Michael Jones and Bentley Knight each netted six markers, while Tyler Myers and Andrew Stackpole added four points and a free throw, respectively.

The young Eagles lost their only game of the season to Monroe Central 44-37. The game was decided from the charity stripe, where Magnolia made only 5-13, while the Seminoles swished 14-25.

Knight paced the Eagles with 15 markers, while Jones tallied six points. Korns, Myers, Goddard, and Moore each netted six points.

In the last game of the season, the Blue Eagles won game number eight, 60-54. Korns led the way offensively for Magnolia with 21 markers, while Goddard and Knight chipped in a solid performance with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Moore netted seven, while Jones tallied six and Jones netted two points.
