Your Right, Responsibility

By Staff | Apr 25, 2012

We hope you’ll notice that on pages 4B, 5B, and 6B, we have begun our in depth coverage of the local elections.

It is our hope that Wetzel County voters will read these question-and-answer articles to help them make an informed vote at the poll on May 8, or earlier if you choose to take advantage of the early voting option.

It’s an ages-old argument, but it bears repeating: We are very fortunate to have the right to vote in the country. Collectively our voices are heard and we govern this country. Our leaders are who we choose. This right has been fought for many times, in many ways. It is not something to be taken lightly or ignored. So please, exercise your right to vote and do it responsibly. An uninformed vote is as bad, if not worse, than a non-vote.

We will highlight even more local races in next week’s Wetzel Chronicle. Keep reading and learning!
